Welcome to the Snug Bar in St Albans, a vibrant and cozy spot nestled in the heart of the historic city. Located at 1 French Row, our bar is housed in a charming, listed building that exudes character and history. Formally called The Fleur De Lys, this bar stands on the site of the house where King John of France was detained after the Battle of Poitiers in 1356.

We pride ourselves on offering an extensive menu of over 100 fresh fruit cocktails, premium and craft beers, and new world wines. Our DJ’s and musicians, create the perfect vibes for you to get together with friends and dance the night away.

Our friendly and attentive staff are dedicated to providing excellent service, ensuring every visit is memorable. With varied opening hours throughout the week, including the latest nights in St Albans on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, The Snug is the perfect place to unwind, celebrate, or simply enjoy a great night out. The bar can accommodate 250 guests and has an awesome garden at the rear, which is covered with heaters in the winter months, to keep everyone toastie and warm. We are the only bar that has a Happy hour in St Albans, that runs 7 days a week.
