Restaurant and bar brand the Snug is to open its sixth site next week, in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

The all-day new “kitchen and cocktails” venue is set to open on 15 May. It will offer a £5.95 lunch menu until 5pm on weekdays, and an all-day menu the rest of the time, including burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, sharing plates and cooked breakfasts.

Along with a selection of wine, beer and lager, there will also be a number of classic and new cocktails, including more unusual creations such as the Banana Banshee (with banana, banana liqueur and vanilla ice-cream), the Butterscotch Blend (with Baileys, butterscotch schnapps, white chocolate liqueur and vanilla ice-cream) and the Cherry Jack (Jack Daniel’s, cherry jam, cherry brandy, lemon, sugar and lemonade).

The new site is part of the group’s plans to open 15 new sites in the next five years.

Owner of the Snug, Giles Fry, confirmed the expansion plans and said that the new site was evidence of the brand’s success.

He said: “We are thrilled to be launching the sixth Snug and its premium Cocktail and Kitchen offering to Hitchin. The Snug has gone from strength-to-strength in its five other locations since we first launched ten years ago, and we obviously hope to build on that success.”

The group also runs five other sites: two in Cambridge, and one each in St Albans, High Wycombe and Hertford. Most sites offer cocktail classes, run DJ nights, and run a 2-4-1 Happy Hour from 3pm to 7pm, or 9pm.
